iPad Launch Line Updates
Apr 3rd
Well, we finally got our hands on the iPad. It’s definitely a great device and waiting in line was a lot more interesting/fun than we were expecting. We had a few readers show up and were able to hand out a lot of business cards to the masses. Thanks for a great launch, Aspen Grove! We’re moving all of the updates after the break, so be sure to hit the read link for full-coverage of the iPad launch here in Colorado. We’re working up the technical specifications analysis right now… doesn’t look at that pretty, but that may not matter. We’re also talking with a representative of Citrix, we’ll hopefully be writing up an article about how that company could change the enterprise world as we know it… with the help of an iPad.
CTA at Aspen Grove for the iPad release!
Apr 2nd
That’s right folks. Tomorrow, April 3rd, Cocoa Touch Apps will be at the iPad release in Denver. It looks like the best of the best will be showing up to the Aspen Grove Apple Store in Littleton, Colorado… so we’re heading there as well. We’ll be working very closely with Steve Sande of TUAW (we have no affiliation, we’re just friends and fellow Apple colleagues) during the launch. So, come say “Hello!” to us. We are holding off on the iPad purchase until the 3G versions come out. We couldn’t justify having a limited product instead of the full version so we can review stuff for the site.
If you’re in Denver, come down to Aspen Grove for the launch party. We’ve embedded a Google map below.
Cocoa Touch Apps t-shirts available
Mar 19th
Before we go and get a lot of these printed, we want to gauge the market for such a shirt. Please head over to the T-Shirts page in the navbar and enter your information. If you want one of the t-shirts right now, it’s $25 plus shipping. If we get enough response to order these in bulk, we’re hoping to make them 15-20 bucks a pop. If you have other t-shirt suggestions, we’d love to hear them. We’ve partnered with a t-shirt printing company here in Denver, and we’re more than willing to entertain other designs. And yes, we can get these to you before the iPad launch on the 3rd.
Cocoa Touch Apps and it’s new server
Mar 12th
We’ve finally completed the transfer to our new server. Sorry for the ridiculous downtime recently. We’re hosted with a great company now that should easily be able to handle all of the traffic we’re generating. We’re going to start getting back to the content now that the back end is up to speed. Please check back regularly as there will always be new stuff added to the site. As always, if you have suggestions or feedback just hit the email icon in the sidebar to the right. We are here to bring you the best Apple content without the mediocrities of the mainstream blogs. Thanks.

Browse CTA through images!
Feb 26th
We’ve added a new feature to the website (what else were we going to do while the servers weren’t responding?).
You can now click the Gallery tab in the navigation bar to see all of the images we’ve used in our articles. If you’re a visual person, this will probably be the best thing ever. If you see a picture that looks interesting, click the title underneath and you’ll be taken to that article. Cocoa Touch Apps strives to make the reader experience better every day: we find creative and innovative ways to share the news with you.
We’re always looking for feedback! If you have a suggestion for the site or any other comments you’d like to share with the editorial staff, please click the mail icon in the sidebar to the right and let us know. We appreciate all of our readers and their continued support. Thank you for reading Cocoa Touch Apps — the best place for the Apple news you care about.
Cocoa Touch Apps Server Issues…
Feb 25th
Hey folks, we’re aware of the intermittent server issues that you might encounter when visiting the website. It appears as though our hosting company can’t handle the traffic that we’re receiving. We’ve turned on a caching service to help improve load times as a temporary solution. We’re working very closely with the web host to make sure that the issue is fixed sooner rather than later. Please bear with us as we work through this problem. If worst comes to worst, we’ll be switching to a bigger hosting company that can handle our traffic without special consideration. That could mean more downtime as it would require a lot of work getting databases transferred and the site software reinstalled on the new server. If it comes to that, we’ll try and make the transition smoothly so you, our readers, aren’t affected much.
Please pardon our dust… Updated!
Feb 4th
The forum installation is causing more issues than we would like… so please pardon our dust as we make changes to the site. It could be temporarily down, but most likely, you’ll probably just see weird design changes as we work. Sorry for any inconvenience!
We’re trying to build a better Apple community that will bring some of our RSS subscribers into the site. Not that there’s anything wrong with RSS, it’s just nice to see your bright smiling faces in the comments every now and then
The forums will be a great place for you to choose the topics and ask questions of your CTA staff and fellow readers.
**Update**
The forums are in place. We’re still working on the look and feel of them, but you should be able to sign in with your normal CTA account or even your Facebook account in order to join the discussion. We’ll be adding more discussions in the next day or so, but it you don’t see something you’d like… let us know.
Cocoa Touch devices wallpaper
Jan 29th
Cocoa Touch Apps designed a new wallpaper or desktop background to commemorate the iPad announcement. We used Apple’s high resolution PR pictures (we had to photoshop them a bit) to make this background. The max resolution is 3000px by 1668px, resize it as necessary — hopefully that will work for most of you.
We started with the iPad and then resized the iPhone and the iPod touch to scale. We’ve been dreaming of a Cocoa Touch tablet for over 1.5 years and Apple finally brought that dream to life with the iPad. Just right click it and save it to the destination of your choice. Please enjoy our wallpaper!
Note: Internet Explorer has trouble loading the file because it’s so large. Here’s a hint, don’t use Internet Explorer. Try Safari or Firefox instead. The full resolution wallpaper is after the jump… this one is 1024 by 576 to help reduce load times.

Cocoa Touch Apps’ Josh Carr on Denver’s CBS4… Updated with link.
Jan 27th
Josh was interviewed this afternoon about the iPad announcement from Apple this morning. It’s scheduled to air tonight during the 10pm news block. As soon as we see the spot online, we’ll embed it or link to it as quickly as we can. It may be later tonight or sometime tomorrow depending on when they can get it uploaded to the website. It was a great time, and hopefully it will help the TV viewers understand exactly what it is and how it could change the mobile media industry. If you’re in Denver, check it out… otherwise, we’ll have a link for you as soon as possible!
Update:
Here’s the link to the video, if we can get it embedded, we’ll do that.
