CTA R.I.P… For now…

A word from the editor’s desk.

As you can see we haven’t posted any new updates in several weeks and have come to a point where we cannot do this alone.  This post is intended to bid a fond farewell to all… The website will still remain and you can always use the search feature to see if we have reviewed the app you’re looking to buy.  If some of you are interested in keeping this site alive with new reviews, we would love to have them.  You will always be able to shoot me an email here: josh at cocoatouchapps dawt com

If you haven’t figured it out by now, all of the previously listed bloggers fell through and I’ve been trying to run the site by myself and do all of the posts, reviews, and comment answering.  It just got to be too much.  I’m definitely willing to keep this going if I could get some help with the main material.

Calling all bloggers. If you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch and want to write reviews for CTA, we’d love to have you so we can get the site back on track.  The best part — the site will always remain on the server and can be resurrected any time.  We’re not going away… we’re just taking a hiatus.  I will remain as the editor and will help those who need it with whatever knowledge I can give, but unless I have people interested in writing some reviews, there won’t be any new content on the site except for a few random post every now and then when I get time.

I know we have some dedicated readers out there (we still get a fair amount of hits each day), and to you I apologize.  I’m sure most of you have us attached to your RSS reader or routinely check the website and I thank you for that.  I wish I had the time to devote, because there is true potential for a website like this but alas some things turn out to be a hobby not a job.

If you want to write for us… great.  Otherwise, we’ll see you around.

Josh

Apple Removes NDA from Current iPhone/iPod Touch Software

In a surprise move — well one that should have been done a long time ago — Apple removed the NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) from all current versions of the iPhone and iPod Touch software.  This will allow developers to better communicate and understand what works and what doesn’t.  Developers have been begging for this since the beginning.  Everyone thought that it would be dropped once the 2.0 software became finalized… but we were all wrong. Nearly 7 months after releasing the first SDK, Apple has decided that everyone will benefit from the discussion.  Duh.  Score one for the developers… now let’s just fix the failure that is the App Store… at least from a submitting perspective.
